'Windsor' leather is used in the Disco. Confused

Also on the Evoque, which by the seats on the car my Mum had is not a good sign.

Oh well.

Did she have an Evoque "Prestige" - that leather was horribly saggy. My Dynamic is bearing up pretty well but I don't know how the quality compares in the Range Rovers - better I hope.

I think the seats are made by Johnson Controls (at least they are for the Evoque) which are rather downmarket compared to Recarro which is what Porsche use. Mark

Dynamic. The texture, softness and 'feel' was not great; nor the scent.

Car was lovely though:

I have the same in mine but the heavily grained leather has proved quite durable if not especially soft. I've never heard it called Windsor leather though (Slough comes more to mind) and I feel certain the SVR leather will be much better. Mark

Will make a change from white Evoques...

I wonder how many of the "normal" 5.0 SC cars will be sold now. If you're of a mindset to want the extra performance and swallow the fuel and other costs, why wouldn't you go for the SVR? As this price point, £10k or so isn't much or, if it is, you haven't prepared yourself for the depreciation or the £150 it costs to fill up with super-unleaded...

Or the cost of those monster 22" tyres... Mark

I have already told my dealer to cancel my 5.0 Supercharged that was due for delivery in December and change my order to an SVR.

One question though......does anybody know what existing RRS Model Spec the SVR is based on? I basically want to know what I get for my money. I have read through the UK Product Brief but there doesn't seem to be anything in there.

Thanks

I feel sure it will be based on Autobiography; the top of the range is not going to be short of kit. I'd be surprised if it had the 7 seat option and RSE may not work behind those new seats.

It will be built on the same line as all the others so it's just a question of which bits get added in.

I was in Dresden a few months ago where VW make the unloved Phaeton which is mainly for the Chinese market and was surprised to seeing them making Bentleys interleaved with the Phaetons. Same floor pan and what differentiated the two was the obviously quality and the spec of the bits going in. And so it will be with the SVR and I feel certain you'll be able to spec most things where there's no conflict with what's new. Not sure how that will leave things like mud-flaps, tow hitches, side steps, front and rear valences and so on. Still, at least 7 months before the first cars and probably the same before the configurator catches up.

I'm glad I waited. I put off two opportunities for the 5.0 SC, the first on the basis of wanting InControl (bit of a damp squib it turns out) and the second on the basis of it being at the end of the model year, hoping for upgrades to the infotainment system which didn't happen. With the SVR now here, it's time to stop this fence sitting. Mark

RSE won't be available as it can't with those seats - same as with the Dynamic Plus on the Evoque.

Looks like most other options will be available, including the Meridan Signature sound system as it appears to be fitted to the blue launch car.

There also looks to be different trim options - the blue car has CF dash for example.

I bet as they've reduced the GVW by 500 kg and make a deal of the 22 inch wheels with the bespoke tyres, 5+2 will not be an option either.
