front end dropping to access height when parked

Hi all, if i park in either off road or normal height the front end drops to access height after a few hours, is this a sensor issue or something vastly expensive ?

its fine when i start and drive, no issues or errors come up, i usually put in in access mode anyway but the odd time i havent i come home and its fronts dropped.

if i put the 4x4 screen up i see 2 red lines above the wheels which dissapear when i start and normal height is selected.

cheers

If its dropping then you have an air leak on the front either at the valve block air pipe or a air bag on one of the front legs..

Flack Thumbs Up

thanks, wouldnt an air leak throw up a warning ? and would there be an air leak on both sides ?

If i got it plugged in to a diagnostic, should that gime me the correct error codes ?

The system wakes up and levels itself every 6 hours so a leaking bag might cause the vehicle to "chase" the front end down in order to stay level. I would have thought, however, that a leaking bag would cause the compressor to work overtime whilst driving and this would then throw up an over-temp error code.

More likely is a valve block issue. Hopefully it's the front valve block (it's behind the front part of the OSF wheel arch liner). A new one is a couple of hundred quid I think. If it's in the main valve block by the compressor then that's a bit more expensive.

Search on the forum for a thread where someone stripped and cleaned the front valve block. Might be helpful. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

thanks,

ok on starting this morning it said suspension raising very slowly or something on screen, and the red line was over the front left wheel for ages, so I assume the issue is with the front left.

Hi, i had my valve block out the weekend, and it was very gunked up, ive cleaned it, its better but still drops so will get a new one,
ive attached a pic of how it looked and it clearly looks like its leaving condensation from the seals...

I followed that strip down guide but I don't know if mine is beyond service. As from the pic it seems to be leaking condensation form the join.
Also the rings inside we're quite hard so I may get a new one.
