I agree Meguiars is great stuff and very easy to use, but I'm not so obsessive Wink I use Gliptone leather treatments, I have an alpacca interior on my D3 and I have a habit of jumping in my car with wet muddy trousers yet their products seem to prevent any marks. You don't fancy cleaning a D3 just to show me exactly how you do it? Only trouble is I'm a sllloooowwwww learner - it might take a while and lots of demos before I've got the hang of it Wink

How long does this take you RRUK ?

One thing I find with cleaning cars - is that some panels / the roof already have dried after the intial hosedown by the time I get round to cleaning it with the sponge/washmitt (particualrly on warm days and with black paintwork) .... do you just rehose the selected area when this happens ?

I find the suds in the Meguiars shampoo don't dry that easily, if a panel does dry out I do re hose it, then when you leather the car you wipe away any water marks.

It's a big car and it's not an easy job!

I live in a very hard water area and no matter how well I clean the cars, unless I polish them, they are covered in (limescale) spots - even if I shammy. I've tried using the new Flash system and that does help a bit. I used to use something called Demon or Red Devil or something like that, which you added to your bucket of final rinse water. It then made the water run off easily and it worked very well - but Halfords don't seem to sell it any longer.
I would like to put a water softener in the house, but because the mains comes in in an awkward place, it would be a extremely expensive job to install.
The other option would be to fit a water conditioner on the outside tap - something like http://www.ionicsystems.com/cars/home/index.html
Has anyone used this or a similar product? I guess it is doing similar to the Flash system, but on a bigger scale. Matt

Hi Matt I share your dilema ..... been very tempted to call Ionicsystems so many times but not got round to it. The rate at which i'm getting through the flash stuff it may be cheaper in the long run going the ionic route? Maybee I'll get round to it and give full report on the product. Certainly looks the part.

Yep snap..

Haven't washed mine/had it washed for me, for three weeks now, and after my little jaunt across the field, its looking rather hard and dirty right now..

Although i wear a suit to work, and keep brushing against the car in the car park and keep getting my hands dirty when opening & closing the boot, and have no where to wipe it, have a cream interior as well.. nightmare!

I have a black leather interior but fitted the LR seat covers as
I am not a huge fan of leather.....waiting for some after market
sheepskin covers !! as I prefer the feel of the fuzz to the slippy
slidey of smooth leather. I WILL wash the car this weekend !!

Any body tell me thebest way to clean the light creme coloured interior panels. I am talking about the panels on the interior door posts and roof lining material. Its out there somewhere. Second V10 Treg on the drive at the moment.

$40 US per month - unlimited brushless carwash, they do the windows, vacuum, scrub the mats, polish the tasmond sill plates and tips, clean the jambs, afro sheen the wheels, clean everything and dry every spec of water. Twice a week for 20 minutes.......... I can even get a cup of coffee while they do the work.

I love being lazy......My RRS loves being clean....

Does that $40 include shipping cost of 1 x RRS from UK to Maryland and back? Wink

I like your style RRUK

I use the Zaino system, get great results, I don't use a mechanical polisher though.

Ps Are there any of our American cousins who would be prepared to post me some Zaino I would very much appreciate it as the costs are over double this side of the pond.
