SAT NAV

Sat Nav
GPS icon has red line through it and sat nav does not now where it is
Thanks to all who replied to my problem I tried a aftermarket antenna and it worked no red line through GPS and all working OK now. I guess I will have to get a new Shark fin antenna. If anyone has one to sell or knows where I can locate one please let me know

Does your Sat Nav have the option to look at the satellites that are being used and signal strength?

If so, it will give a clue. If satellites are just weak then the GPS is probably working but a poor connection to the receiver.

Unfortunately this option is not available on my unit

Lost GPS signal in UK whilst on long trip it just started telling me I was in the North Sea after having worked fine

Get into the secret menu and you will be able to see what the GPS is seeing. Mike

MikeB, I think MSE is referring to the diagnostics menu accessed using the '753' code. If you search for '753' (without the quote marks) you'll find the instructions to get into it. One of the options shows you the altitude and longitude and latitude plus all sorts of other gobblydegook. Presumably if the antenna ain't working then this information may not be showing? 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE
