Sync My Phone Each Time?

I have a MY 2006 and each time I enter the car I have to sync (2121) my phone. I seem to recall that early on I did not have to do this. Is this the way all 2006's are?

Yes Dave, it needs a software upgrade. This will also give you your contacts from your phone, on your radio Thumbs Up

I can arrange for you to have yours swapped for new software Thumbs Up

I'll drop you a PM Thumbs Up Bodsys Brake Bible

I also have this issue on a 08MY TDV8 HSE.
But when it does sync I do get the contacts list on the radio.

So will the upgrade work for me? Or has it potentially been done due to the contacts on the radio?

Tommy, sounds like yours already has the newer software on.
Try opening the bonnet, then letting the car go to sleep, then disconnecting the battery, touching the pos and neg cables (not battery) together for 20 secs, reconnect securely to the battery, then try it again. Bodsys Brake Bible

It drains all ecu's of any stored power, then when you ignition back up again, they all re sync with themselves effectively.
Sometimes the modules can become confused Laughing

This works for all sorts of ecu software anomalies that occasionally blight our wonderful vehicles Thumbs Up Bodsys Brake Bible

well i would like to say no further issues.

however went out today been driving 15-20 mins and my phone rang... not through the blutooth.

checked the phone after the call and just shows "not connected"

I had the same issues a year or so ago with the old crapphone 3GS, but i thought the 4S wouldnt have these problems.

it connects fine when i just hit "Connect" on the phone, but just wont auto sync.

Im just going to get limo black privacy glass now its easier than trying to get the blasted thing to work 08MY HSE 3.6 TDV8 Stornoway Grey, Twisted performance cat back... and shed loads of extras!!!

Sounds like possibly a dodgy unit then. Double check that the cables are in it properly as I had anothe customer who reported similar after I had updated theirs.
When they swapped the unit put, they hadn't put the main connector in properly, so it would have intermittent connection.

Go to your boit. On the right hand side, there is a small panel. Remove that and if you look in, you should be able to see a black box if you peer in. One large connector and one smaller connector with orange cable. Just unplug them both and reconnect them fully. Thumbs Up Bodsys Brake Bible
