Yes mine does that, I find if I leave it open it doesn't do it.
Haven't worked out why or what is causing it yet!!!

My glovebox was making an annoying buzz. Looked as if it was caused simply by the lid not closing tightly enough so there was a tiny bit of movement. Didn't seem to be any adjustment on the latch and dismantling it to put in a packing piece looked too difficult. In the end I just stuck two 1cm long pieces of sticky backed rubber draught proofing strip http://www.diy.com/nav/build/insulation/dr...908050(one either side of the latch).

The lid now closes tightly - no more buzzing. Bit of a low tech fix Embarassed . One day I'll dismantle the thing and do it properly. One day. Neutral 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

I have this problem too. It seems that the latch mechanism itself is what is causing the rattle. I was considerig doing the same as what Paddi has done but there must be a slightly longer rubber bung out there somewhere that will fit??

Has anyone got a BMW? If so can you please check your glovebox and see if the rubber plug is slightly bigger than the RR one?

I had this driving me mad for 6 months before I figured out how to fix it.

Can't remember how I figured it out but this is how I fixed it

Get yourself some GT85 spray dry lube from Halfords ... Spray the hinges and all metal bits...

Let it dry for 30 mins
You should now be sqeeeek and creeak free.

hope this help

No problem with mine, not even on the last one. Then again it is so full usually it can’t move. So thanks to my partner for storing gloves, 3 pairs various colours; scarves, 4 varying styles; and various other garments to cover every eventuality. But certainly never rattles.
