Slow to refuel

I can't stop Mr. Green every time I drive our TDV8 but every time I have to refuel it takes an absolute age. It's just click, click after every 10p worth and it's sooooooo annoying Big Cry

Does anyone have this problem or can suggest anything please as its driving me nuts(only filled it up 3 times so far).

It might be that the misfueling device has been activated, if fitted Idea

It is fitted but I thought that this would stop any fuel going in or is it ident to my symptoms?

Sounds like misfuel device has dropped

Reset the misfuel protection device as follows:

1. Insert the reset tool (with the teeth uppermost) as far as it will go into the filler neck.
2. Locate the teeth by pushing down the top of the reset tool.
3. With the top of the tool pressed down and the teeth engaged, slowly pull the tool out of the filler neck to reset the device.

Do not twist the device, once the teeth have engaged.

I've had a similar problem with other cars before and remember finding that if I turned the fuel filler hose about 90 degrees anti clockwise after inserting into the fuel filler, the slow fill problem did not occur. Sounds strange I know but might be worth a try. Its worked for me before. Good luck. Carl

V8SC Is absolutely correct here...I am not sure that the misfuel device has actually activated itself more of a design problem and I have found in my FFRR that some filling station pumps are worse than others. I now do what V8SC suggests all the time and as such it doesn't bother me anymore Smile

I don't bother with the yellow device, I am used to putting diesel in now after 2 consecutive RRSs, when I am re-fuelling....

**TOP TIP ALERT**

I wedge the filler cap under the handle and let the car fill up while I clear all the rubbish out etc.

When the car is full it clicks it self off, saves me standing there Thumbs Up

I noticed this when filling mine up at the weekend. As said above, try moving the nozzle around a bit. The combination of the mis-fuel device and high volume pumps can cause the pump to 'shut off' prematurely. ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

I just use the handle hold lock that all fueling hoses have here, much simpler Wink Mr. Green '08 RRS TDV8
I converted my diesel RRS to run on an environmentally friendly mixture of caribou fat and baby seals oil

For the fuel click problem - ive had this before, move the nozzle out of the filler one notch.

Its not the miss fuel device as that only stops all fuel Mike
