Remote Key Fob not working

Hi
New to the RR world, picked up a 05 RR Sport HSE with only 23k miles Wednesday
Apart from putting in a new bosch battery this morning all well.

I got 2 keys with it and the one that looks worn/used doesnt work on the remote.
I read up the manual and it says that the key should charge when in the ignition, but after spending 6 hrs on the road yesterday it still doesnt work.

Just wondering if a new key is required or whether there is a simpler/ chaeper solution.

Same thing has happened to me. Phoned dealers, they said it needs a new key. £100 and £45 to programme it.
