Vibration from steering wheel problem RRS

I have a RRS 2009 model (before facelift), which i bought brand new in April 2009. After a few months the vehicle developed a vibration issue which seemed to shot up the steering wheel from the front of the car, it got to the point that is was so uncomfortable to drive and therefore i contacted the main dealer.

They said to me that it was a problem with RRS model and the fix was to attach some weights to i believe the axle to sort the problem.

I got the car back and low and behold the vibrations have returned am really at a loss as to what the problem is and with my warranty running out in 13 months i want to get it fixed.

I must also say the problem only really happens when am driving on a straight line and if I go over the smallest of bumps i feel the vibration, it happens at all speeds.

Does anyone know if there is a new fix?

I put my 09 RRS into the dealer last week as was also suffering a vibration/shudder in the steering wheel that I likened to the front wheels being out of alignment when I was trying to describe it. I was the same - it was all speeds and road surfaces that I felt in on.

They had a look and ended up doing some work on the front bushes. I'm not sure of the technical in's and out's of what they did, and I don't think they replaced them, but whatever they did has worked though as I'm no longer getting the vibration.

Might be worth asking your dealer to have a look in the same area.

I was experiencing the same problem but only when accelerating and braking. The problem then got worse and I felt vibrations even when driving.
The dealer changed the wheels from 20" to 19" claiming that the problem was in the rims Confused
The problem however was solved Thumbs Up

Strangely enough, when mine was in the dealer last week, at the same time they did whatever they did with the bushes they put my new 20" wheels on and took 19"s off.

It'd been with my 19"s on that the vibration was noticed, and those rims were pristine.

Confused indeed!!

There was talk of rims "warping" on the inner edge, causing vibrations.

Take the car to an independent tyre specialist and get them checked on their spinning balancer thingie.. RRS gone
