Left rear door will not unlock

When I unlock the car, the left rear door will not unlock. When I try to open the door from the inside it will not open, and I can not unlock it from the inside.

Anybody tried this and what was the solution? RRS TDV8 HSE in Stornoway Grey/Alpaca/Rhodium/Multimedia/Privacy Glass

Did you have the child lock on? Cause thats why it would not open from inside. Can you hear the motor working on the door or not?

Hi. Sit in the car and try and operate the door latch as you normally would. Once you have pulled the door latch outwards try pressing the unlock button on your key fob. This happened on mine with the same door and it would only open this way by me assisting the latch. It appeared to lack the power to operate on its own, ie without help. I suspected possibly a weak solenoid but they just replaced the complete latch under warrenty. Try and see if this opens your door for starters. Hope this helps.

Hi sweetafton - Child lock off, actually it has never been on. It sounds like it unlocks, but no.

Hi Accyis - thanks, will try. I had the same issue with the drivers door two years ago and they changed it under warranty, but now there is no more warranty ... ran out in march RRS TDV8 HSE in Stornoway Grey/Alpaca/Rhodium/Multimedia/Privacy Glass

it does not sound like the motor is working. When inside the car and opening via the door latch and then the key fob it works. But still no remote lock. Is the only solution to change the whole lock? RRS TDV8 HSE in Stornoway Grey/Alpaca/Rhodium/Multimedia/Privacy Glass

Thats what they changed on ours under warranty. They probably throw parts at it.

It's a miracle. I had no time to sort the problem before the summer and now it works all fine again.
