United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Zambezi Silver

Well then a roll offroading is the most likely scenario. A lot of sand on the side! but the front right wing looks a bit suspect - all depends on wheter it's a left or right hand drive, what is it in the UAE? If they drive on the left I would then suspect a head on glance, followed by a roll! RRS 2.7 TDV6 HSE Zambezi silver,Alpaca.

I would say that RRS was not involved in a road incident........ the damage is awful but would say it was one of two things..... it has rolled while offroad or has been damaged while being shipped out to the UAE. There isn't any thing on it that shouts high speed collision. The damage is similar to what I have seen to cars that have been shipped through heavy(read very rough!) weather
or have gone on their side offroad (I did something similar but in slo mo in my Defender!) It might even have found a bit of wandering livestock in the desert.
I think that S/C has been charging over sand dunes and met an unfortunate
end.The only other thing I can imagine that would cause the rear damage would be a shunt on the rear quarter
The airbags all worked OK !

Had it been rough weather during transport, which made the car roll so much inside the ship and assuming the same thing would have happened to all the rest of the cars, I think that there would have been such a weight shift inside the ship, it most probably would have sunk RRS S/C,Bonatti Grey,Ebony Interior,Lined Oak Finish, Rear Lock Dif, DVD,Sunroof,ACC

re recent crash photos

Is this beloved car safe for the family? ,

From what I can see there is nowhere on the web can you find crash data for the rrs, TA have u any stats u can share with us?

The two recent crash scenes do make the car look fragile, which I find hard to believe - its a landrover for goodness sake. However I need some comforting here folks. And I guess it is difficult to know what speed both cars had been doing when they crashed and without any direct comparison to another car it is very difficult to judge how the cars faired.

I wonder how much the presence of the sun roof led to so much roof buckling.

I've not got my car yet, do those of you with the RRS feel that it is solid? TDV6 SE Buckingham Blue, Alpaca, Cherry trim, Supercharger side and front grils, Privacy Glass, PTI, Roof rails&rack, Removeable tow-bar, Goodyear Wrangler F1's, Cherished plate, Alpine built in SatNav, rear view camera.......

Merc A class , the RRs younger brother.

Shocked Shocked Shocked

Oh dear Oh dear Oh dear.................... another one bites the dust Sad

The black RRS in the USA was doing approx 70mph when the owner lost control BIG STYLE

Whoever was driving this appears to have done something similar ? I wonder if it took off on a sand dune and landed nose down on its right hand corner - then rolled - but not a complete roll as the other side is clean. But look how far the right hand side has moved inwards Shocked the rear wheel is completely exposed!

Blimey VA. this is making your encounter look more like scratch in the kids playground Wink

Ps. I've just shown my wife both this and the USA damaged RRS & she says she wont get in the car again - her TT is safer Shocked Shocked

I think both cases show the strength of the RRS, not the weakness. The main body cage is not flattened, and the airbags have worked.

Have the same accident in the TT or any other car and the damage would no doubt be MUCH worse.

Land Rover could not and would not produce a car which was a step backwards in passenger safety - the main reason for the extra weight is SAFETY. Martin

No need to tell me Martin Wink I'm fully up to speed with what I've bought & all of its credentials. But - as for my wife she's just a big girlie & does after all drive a hair -dressers car. She would prefer in the case of an accident - not airbags - but an auto nail & make up repair function Wink
