I know that I can connect my ipod via the aux at the rear and install my ipod in the fridge box but can i get the track listing on the display and have use of the steering wheel controls to operate it?

It sounds a little bit of a let down really Wink

I presume something like Kaine system would interface better with ipods or such like

Something LR seems to over look when it comes to Audio Evil or Very Mad

The £1200 rear screens on the FL2 don't even come with a DVD player, another bad LR decission Rolling Eyes

If I hadnt bought the LR interface I would have bought this:

http://www.harmankardon.com/drive-1/default_dp1.aspx

Supposedly is very good and easy to use..... Just found a site advertising it for £50.... might buy one for the bmw at that price!!

http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/4892.html

Good luck!!

P.S, the interface is Censored but the rest of the car is ACE (bmw interface is not much better actually worse on my E46!!!!) RRS TDV8 HSE 2007- JAVA Black/Black interior,

Be careful as the part number for the iPod module has changed. The new part number is the same, but is a lead in the glove box as opposed to the holder by the steering wheel. Thought I'd mention it so that anyone buying one in the near future gets what they are expecting!

Does anyone know if I go for the Harmon Kardon option, will I be able to use the RRS Auxilary connection to connect to the Harmon Kardon brain or do I have to use the connections on the back of the head unit.
Cause I'm not too keen on taking apart the centre console etc. Confused

The description on website mentions 3.5mm jack for audio out which should in theory connect into the aux socket,I liked the look of this so have already ordered one MY07 TDV8 HSE (BAS Remap), Java, Privacy Glass,Tasmods.

Hi all.

I've had the HK system in my RRS for about 18 mths now, and no complaints from me ! The ipod sits in the lower glovebox and the system plugs in to both the lighter and audio sockets in the back of the centre console. All the wiring tucks away behind the trim, and the control and display units are stuck onto the fascias - no drilling or taking things apart required !

Heres the pic with the controller and display unit (and the old phone and origin too !). Other folks have installed the display in the cup holder, but I prefer it in line of sight (and I use the cup holder for holding cups )

I've been onto the Harmon / Kardon USA site and there are 2 versions :-

Harmon Kardon Drive and Play http://manuals.harman.com/HK/CAR/Owner%27s..._ENG_2.pdf

Harmon Kardon Drive and Play 2 http://manuals.harman.com/HK/CAR/Quick%20S...ish%20.pdf

You can get the Drive and Play here at £19.99
http://www.bigpockets.co.uk/product.php?na...e+%2B+Play

The Harmon Kardon Drive and Play 2 seems to be around £200.

The main difference is the Drive and Play 2, uses a wireless control Knob (which is an excellent feature), but IMHO not worth the extra £180

So I ordered the cheap-one...! Very Happy Thumbs Up

JayMann

I've used BigPockets several times in the past, was recommended to me by a colleague. Can't fault them to be honest (so far).

I hope I haven't spoken too soon Exclamation
