Yep you have to turn up the volume when in Aux mode. With my iPod connected to the HK drive + play (with the iPod volume set to max) at volume 20 the level is ok, but if I flick to FM, the radio is noticeably louder. For my set-up volume 20 in Aux is equivalent approx. to volume 15 on FM radio.

So the HK drive + play does not amplify nor de-amplify the Aux signal.

I guess you could see larger differences in levels, depending on your iPod volume setting plus the recording levels of your music i.e. have the levels of all iPod tracks been equalised/normalised.

Bottom line is :- max volume on iPod through Aux (with or without HK drive + play) is 25% less than radio volume Big Cry

I still like the HK drive + play though. Thumbs Up

Switzerland 2009 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black

Hi,

I just ordered my 2009 RRS HSE TDV8 today, with a bunch of extra equipment. Among them the Audio Connectivity System. On the pics in the accessories catalogue it is mounted next to the steering wheel. The part number is LR006792, and it includes a small connection panel with L/R and USB.

Am I safe, I don't want the iPod in the glove box, I want it easily accessible and where I can see the display?

Yeah, that sounds like the now "discontinued" ACM kit with iPod docking cradle. Same as the original kit (part # LR004805) from last year, but with an extra wire to make it compatible with the FL/LR2 as well as Disco3 and RRS. The latest kit (without cradle, just a connector in the glove box) has a different part #.

I hope that's what you get, though. If they/you ordered by part # from the catalog and the kit is no longer in stock, they may send you the new one.

Scotland 2009 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Stornoway Grey

I've got the original RR kit fitted which works well, although you have to use the iPod as the controller. Having just upgraded to the new iTouch........it won't fit in the cradle as its about 4mm taller than the 'classic'.

Happy days!

Still, I can use the USB connector in the glove box, but that means returning to loose cables.

Has anybody with the same problem got a method of adapting the original RR kit? .

There is absolutely no substitute for a genuine lack of preparation.

TDV8 HSE MY10 with pretty much everything including a vase of daffs on the back shelf, tropical fish collection in the centre console, hamsters in the spare tyre and finally sheep on the passenger seats.....for weight distribution, what else??
