Yes, dilute as per the instructions. During the winter you can leave it "raw" if you live somewhere that's stupidly cold.

Is coolant not the mixture of ingredients - water and antifreeze... ? I guess you add water where a 100% antifreeze coolant is not required. Water is the 'coolant' to dissipate the heat but antifreeze is required in the water in some climates.

I guess if water didn't freeze and turn to ice they'd need a new name for antifreeze...

Hope that helps.... Question

Why are you soon have the engine coolent for the rr sports?? You mean you ordered it and they are just delivering?? So all this while you're driving around on an empty radiator Question Shocked

If the coolant level is low just add water, it'll do. You only have to worry about the antifreeze etc. if the radiator has leaked badly or if you're draining the radiator. Normal top-up, just add water.

By the way, what model are you driving and what's your location? Malaysia Boleh!

I just checked the car, because i'm off to Andorra to ski for a few days.

Found to my surprise and disapointment the coolant level in the refill compartment
to be 1\2 cm from the bottom...
This without any warnings!!

Refill with just plain water like Bobby says?

The manual indicates it needs the LR fluid mixed with water for anti freez and anti corrosion protection.

I'm leaving in the early morning! Anybody got a quick answer based on knowhow?

Cheers, SW

Bobby's RRS is in Malaysia, I would suggest that unless this Global Warming malarky gets a lot worse very suddenly then he doesn't actually need any antifreeze, just water. Going skiing in Andorra on the other hand (or coming to Scotland at the moment) then you need to be prepared for some seriously negative temperatures at night so I would recommend topping up with a good brand antifffffffffffffffffreeze Sky, you won't need much and you can get it from any decent autostore unless you live in Malaysia, when you might have to wait for the next shipment! You might even be able to buy top-up bottles on a motorway service area filling station. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Thanks Tim.

So it's not needed to buy the specific LR fluid?

LR warns not to mix liquids!

Plain water will not corode the system?

What can be the cause of this spillage?
Garage floor is completely free of spots and engine compartment is clean anddry as well.

The only spot i found is a little drop around the black pressure valve. SW
