ok so i pose the question: is it better to hand wash (and potential damage the paint) an extremely dirty car or powerwash it off initially? it the dirt doesn't come off by using the hose, then i'd rather blast it with the pressure washer before risking rubbing the stones into the clearcoat...?? 2007 RRS HSE Java/Ebony w/Luxury Package

Thanks for the advice Shmoogle, I'd best go easy then or I'll probably end up with a naked car wearing only primer??? Laughing Laughing Laughing Sad

I now combine the two methods fellas: soapy low pressure soak, gentle rub-down with sponge, then high pressure blast-off with Karcher from distance, before chamois finish. Works ok for me! Thumbs Up Never Knowingly Offensive.., so P155 OFF!!!

Hmmm, wonder what you all think LR dealers and other dealers use to prep the vehicle on first delivery and then what they use for subsequent courtesy cleaning during a service.

Yes, you've guessed it, a hot water pressure wash.

OK so they have a cleaning bay which hand waxes etc etc but the donkey work is a pressure washer. Rob Lane
