Australia 2011 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Alaska White
Census - Your top 5 RRS issues / problems

Hey you guys - Confused with only 16,000Km's I am still very happy traveller and after 6 months still love climbing into the drivers seat!

Maybe I could say;
* the right rear interior body panel squeak,
* Steering column scraping sound (sometimes) when parking
* Tow electrics wired up for Europe (not Ozy standards) very dangerous/unsafe when towing!!! (repaired at MY expense)
* No wheel locking nuts

As we need heaps of rain here in OZ, we are in the worst drought lasting nearly 10 years (in many places)! So wish I could complain about driving in the pouring rain and having no mirror vision!

Just to see some green would be amazing, dont see the point about having a good winge about my expensive baby however it makes me feel better! Anyway fingers crossed Ford got it right this time. Smile

G'day Geoff,

Re your scraping noise - I had my steering rack replaced as it was the source of that squeal / scrape. I could have sworn it came from near the plastic cowl behind the steering wheel, but three attempts to fix the problem by looking there resulted in no joy. When they replaced the rack, it was all good again! Very Happy Apparently the noise travels up the steering column and is quite deceptive. Mine was also noticeable when using a lot of steering movement ie parking.

Most annoying problem (as seen on a previous thread) is the rasping noise coming from the g/box or transmission) and being told that ZF are looking at a way to fix it but have not come up with anything as yet.... Mad

1. Rear Window Strips, once black, now got a brown marbling affect - must take them in and get them resprayed or changed.. its less than 8 months old
2. Engine power seems down since "last engine enhancement", trying to beat the traffic crossing major intersections is now quite interesting
3. Engine can sounds like a bag of spanners before warming up since last engine enhancement, revs higher and not smooth, especially if i have the aircon working overtime.
4. Rear doors are a sod to close, only half close alot of the time
5. Diesel is far to expensive down here, its now down to 50 pence a litre ... Aussies still whinge about it though.. dose of UK prices would do them good Wink

Had mine since 28/10/06 (6 weeks ish) done 2500 miles and so far, touching lots of wood, nothing wrong, not even the knock from front. Envoy mentions he has heard it in mine but then hes got big ears - can't say I have noticed any knock - yet.......

Therefore no complaints at the moment. However In my industry things break down continually. So may be my tolerance level is greater... MY10 TDV6 HSE, Alaska White, Ebony with Contrast, Park Heat, Paddle Shift, Privacy, Heated Steering Wheel, Extended & Premium Leather,

Too f*@#ing right we do!!! Especially when it costs more than premium unleaded. For god sakes, diesel is a by product of petroleum production, they should be giving it away!! Evil or Very Mad The dirty Government take their share too so that they can give it back to truckies and primary producers as subsidies.....I wonder if I can make my backyard into a farm?
