Ghost 2 Pro vs Starline i96 immobiliser MY2024

Anyone fitted a Starline i96 immobiliser on the Range Rover? Looking at the Starline i96 as it's got a call alert on your phone if someone tries to steal the car.

Hi,

I’ve got the Ghost-2 fitted in my 24MY D300 AB.

It’s configured on the gearbox so anyone trying to select a gear with it enabled kills the engine dead, but I can still use remote start via the App.

Guardian mode on Secure Tracker Pro will tell me if there is an attempt to tamper with the car.

With both in action - I’m covered.

Ghost fitted in a couple of hours in my drive and it’s been faultless.

Hi @scrumps, thanks for the info.

Did you get the Ghost 2 Pro or the Basic Ghost 2?

Believe the added advantage of a Starline models (i96/Halo+) is they can be configured alongside your mobile phone you can get a phone call alert and easy to disable when putting it in service mode via the app.

Also with the Starline Halo+, the horn will honk out loud if they tried to start the car (might be annoying for the neighbours) but I think the feature is actually very good and only way to disable the alarm is using the Pin sequence.

Thing about Guardian Mode, when it is turned on, you can use any other features on the InControl Remote App.

Hi,

Just the standard GHOST-2.

I mainly use it with the App which means I don’t have to use the PIN code. You can pairvtwo phones.

Changing the PIN is easy and putting it into Service Mode is just five operations of a certain switch. Takes seconds.

Not sure what features of the app you may want to use if the car is in Guardian Mode, but it’s never affected anything I wanted to do.

I used www.trackershop-uk.co.uk for my fit at home. The guy normally covers south west London but was heading home to Wales for a break and did me on the way. Only took a couple of hours and it was a really neat job.

Sorry, i meant when you turn on Guardian mode, all remote features are disabled. I also like the idea of pairing with the phone so i don't have to use PIN code.

Thanks, i will have a look on the website but think i'm leaning towards the Starline with the (gear selection cut out, call alert + horn honking)

You might want to check what the dealer says about affect on warranty. I was told could affect SOTA and warranty if any electrical issues cropped up.

Went for the Ghost 2 with ADR tags and the call alert feature . It is fitted to cut off the engine when the gear is selected without the Pin code sequence entered and will get a phone call alert to notify me as well.

The walk away locking is still not working even when I'm like 50meters away from the car for over 5-10mins. Do i have to enable keyless entry for this to work? I have re-enabled the option in the menu.

Hi,

Sorry but to my mind, ADR tags are a retrograde step.

If your keys get pinched, your car is gone.

If my keys get pinched, they need to know my PIN or nick my iPhone (from the side of my bed), crack my iPhone then enable the App to have my car away.

Phone Alert - covered by Incontrol Secure Tracker Pro!

My 10p.
