Engine bay brace captivated nuts.

Just had the two brace sections off to take my oil cooler out to do both gaskets and the oil and coolant o rings. When removing the bolts one of the captivated nuts came loose on the passenger side. Then when going back together one on the driver side decided to break loose also. Seems like they are only press fitted into the strut tower as it doesn’t seem to take much torque to break them free anyway. Anyone had this happen before? Can they just be tack welded? Or would a rivnut be the way to go? The first issue would actually be getting them undone now.

Not sure there is a nut as such. Seem to be round and pressed into the strut tower with nothing on the other side.

That’s bloody awful. What did you say and how did they rectify it?
