United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Lux Firenze Red
SDV6

Happy new year all, i have a 2012 3.0ltr diesel sdv6 and i will be selling it soon my question is are the newer RRS, 2014 onwards , engines the same as the early ones , not 2.7, and do they have the same problem with the crankshaft , also does the RR velar have the same 3.0ltr engine also on another landrover site some one said the later sports, 2014 onwards, only have one turbo ?

The Velar has had two kinds of 3.0L diesels in its lifetime so far. The original D300 was a V6 and the newest version (from 2021) is an inline 6 Ingenium. Both are very solid but my preference was for the inline 6. Super smooth and powerful and not had any issues to my knowledge.

The L494 3.0 is the SDV6 and can suffer from crank failure, sadly. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
