United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 S Izmir Blue
06 Range Rover starting issue

Hi new to this group so hopefully someone can help or has had this problem
06 Range Rover sport only owned it for about 6 weeks been running great couple of little issues but to be expected from older vehicle. Jumped in last week turned key nothing E on dash with transmission fault park brake fault hdc fault, so read up on it and pointed to battery put new battery in and away she went drove around checked that alternator was charging no problem.
jumped in few days later same thing and no start called Rac and he checked everything and had faults come up and cleared them then checked again and same faults back up couldn’t do any thing offered to get it towed to garage I say don’t worry I can sort that. Bought a second hand tcm unit and put that in still no joy, thought I’d check it yesterday and away she went again so took for drive all seems ok, jumped in again this morning nothing again, doing my head in now would appreciate any guidance as to what it could be. Have been told it might be the starter motor?

New tcm may need programming,
So best to fit the old unit for now.

You’re probably going to want a fault code reader for any help.

Maybe an autel ap200 white one for ~£65 if you can find one
Or a gap iid for £450

Press in the ones that say fault and see what codes you get.

United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Bali Blue

Is this a case of not starting or not cranking at all??,,, what exactly is the battery voltage when this happens?? . Simple things first,, battery terminals secure and tight,, earths on bodywork,, try putting a temporary earth from the battery to the engine block to see if it makes a difference,, if so check the main earth on the chassis. Change brake pedal switch another heap option. 2010 RRS, TDV8
