Strange set of Faults?

Amber Engine light raised ugly head on holiday and all local garages very busy but one was willing to just diagnose issue and advise. Result was turbo boost and he suggested carry on as normal till get home.

Following day light re-appeared and was soon followed by RED Exhaust filter full - there had definitely been NO amber warning and I am straight into Limp Home Mode with 150 miles to go!

Tried the standard procedure to regen with no success but when arrived back home local specialist carried out standard regen and it worked and found no other faults - turbo fine.

Reading another thread here on iCarsoft and noticed on their site it appears to be able to force DPF regens which clearly explains why I couldn't and the garage could!

If I buy a V3 is it a simple enough process please? For example: Do I need to be over 40 mph when
starting forcing? Any traffic dropping me below 40 restarts the 20 mins etc?

Sorry for basic questions. 2017 3.0 SDV6 HSE
