Nut for holding license plate on tailgate

My L320 (2009) is missing a nut in the tailgate where the license plate can be bolted on to. The hole seems to have a hex-shape.

Can someone tell me what nut/rivnut/partnumber I need?

I am only missing one, but a previous owner put in a regular "round" rivnut which does not have a nice fit. So I want to fit OEM ones again for both.

It's a perfect place for water ingress, resulting in rust which will make removing the screw difficult at a later time, which is more than likely what has happened here.

Make sure the hole area is clean, cover with some quality 'gaffer' tape, and use sticky pads to fix the registration plate on.

That's my suggestion, and the way I do it.

Plastic would be original. Then screw in a metal self tapping screw
