2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Galway Green

3.6 TDV8 - Engine oil capacity enquiry

Hi folks,

I will be carrying out a full service on my 2010 3.6 TDV8 RRS soon and after reading through the forum I noticed people saying that the engine oil capacity is 9.5 litres.

Looking at the owners handbook it states 5.45 litres/9.6 pints but it doesn't specify the engine size.

Could somebody please confirm.

I may be wrong but I seem to recall my old TDV8 took 9.5 Ltrs for a oil and filter change.

No I do beleive you are correct Col, just seems strange that the owners manual is wrong 2010 RRS 3.6 TDV8 HSE Galway Green

Are you sure you have the correct handbook? as far as I can see 5.45 LItres is for the old 2.7 engines.

I believe so Col, its showing the cooling capaicty for the diesel v8's. 2010 RRS 3.6 TDV8 HSE Galway Green

From the workshop manual:

2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

That looks more like the capacities page from a 2007 handbook to me.

Where are you buying the service kit from? I need to do mine soon aswell, Some have better oils in their kit so will be nice to hear some recommendations?
