Suspension Fault

I have had my RRS for one week now and today I got a message that said "SUSPENSION FAULT STOP SAFELY STOP ENGINE". When I look in the manual as to what it means, it says "Major Component Failure".

After I parked and turned off the engine and turned it back on, the message is gone. Has anyone experienced this? Is this still a problem if the message goes away?

I've realized that it isn't a problem if it goes away when you reboot the car. I always take that computer messages with a grain of salt. i would say you would be wasting your time taking it to a dealer or ever worring about it because it is nothing RRS S/C Special Edition, Vesuvius

...unless it IS something of course Wink But this is such a widely reported false error, that it probably is nothing to worry about.

I have to take my car in for several other reasons so I might as well mention it.

Be a little careful,
My suspension warning light first came on at about 3000 miles and went off for a full week before the suspension failed and LR assistance recovered the car on a recovery truck. I am now on my 3rd pump and the warning light came on again about 2 weeks ago Sad but so far it's not re-appeared and I've done another 1000 miles including off-roading Smile

OMG - I must be missing a warning light........... must get into the dealer as soon as possible and get one retro-fitted.

Anybody else short of a warning light for the air suspension?

Was it an optional extra when you bought your car Mr Bean because I have one of the first RRS's on the UK roads and there were no spec/ accessory sheets available when I bought mine, I must have missed out on something really useful.

Thanks for highlighting this defect. A Carbon Footprint is the mark a lump of coal makes when it's dropped on the ground.

TDv8 HSE - Stornoway Grey with ebony and straight grain walnut wood-a-like interior with towpack, Tasmods. The best car I have ever owned
Now departed - Giverny Green TDv6SE with Aspen and Parchment interior - nearly the best car I have ever owned
Staying - Epsom Green Defender 90 for playing off road

just checked my owner's handbook for you Tim and on page 99 it shows the Amber Suspension Warning Indicator. It stays on if the system detects a fault and usually displays a message also on the message centre. Often false warnings though as they usually re-set after re-starting?? tdv6se owner since end of sept 05

Are you Okay Tim? Confused

Don't worry about the light.....it's not that much help if it comes on or not....it has a mind all of it's own!

If that was my car I think I'd be asking for a swap by now.... By replacing the compressor 3 times they clearly have not solved it.
