Any body come across this pic yet? What’s the thoughts on LR going down this route? Looks like the new Defender.

That’s just nothing to stick on, defender gets his own light signature, discovery lineup also and Range Rovers will be always different to the rest of the LR lineup.

This is a poor photoshop with a mostly untouched L494 body combined with the wrong front end.
I you want to get an Impression how the next RRS could look, combine the existing proportion with a clean body panelling like the Velar presents and with a more masculine rear end.

Forget about the defender light signature, this is just a wrong signal for the car press.

So LR puts fake headlights in the camouflage vehicles? Or puts Defender lamps in them? All
To throw off the public?

Yes, this is exactly what they do.

It’s a marriage of parts for the prototypes, the design of the headlamps for the RR lineup will be modern Sleek and not fancy round like the defender version. The two small square leds is just a tribute to the old position lamps and blinkers of the defenders and nothing what relates to the RR design history.

Trust me, it’s a marriage of parts. Remember, the other way around was a shortened L494 used as prototype for the defender 90... Thumbs Up 2012 RRS HSE SDV6, BOURNVILLE 12/12-10/14

Yup they used the L494 for the Discovery mules too. Journalists thought it was the refresh. 2016 SCV8 Dynamic - Firenze Red/Pimento

yeah if it looks like those mock ups then I think Porsche, BMW, AUDI and Merc are gonna be rubbing their hands together!

RRS and the FF have their signature headlights I think they might have even started it on the facelift FF with the Christmas tree lights around 2009/2010 is after Audi added some DLRS leds.

most of the trials like that are as others have suggested parts bin frocks, so they might leave a few tasters in their to give the press something to talk about but I doubt it will look like the mock ups,

They have only just released the facelift l494 last year so its probably the right time ish but to be that far down the testing line seems very productive for LR, this might be the new FF version as they bought that out before the sport too.

either way Im sure it will follow the Velar styling to some degree and be a little be less Range Rover of old (I mean the boxy shape that defined them)

I reckon this is more like what is possible there was a TV series in 2018 called the first that had what looked to be Sport concept with alot of Velar in it I think before the or almost at the tiem the Velar was being launched if it looked like this then Im in! https://uk.motor1.com/news/266083/hulu-land-rover/

Here are a few of the stills if you watch the clip it even has some of the car and design plans on like a large holo screen at about 0.30 seconds in onwards that camo test car doesnt look much like it looks more like the defender 90 or 110 (maybe a special model? If a jobs worth doing, get a someone who knows what they are doing to do it!
