Brake Bleed Kits.

Hi Guys,

I need to bleed a rear caliper on my 2014 Range Rover Sport.
What brake bleed kit for one person to use would you recomend that you have used etc?

Cheers!

Can you get someone sat in the car to pump the pedal to do it,,it’s only a 2 minute job if your only bleeding one.Or you could just loosen the nipple & let it gravity bleed, ive done that many times when I’ve been on my own. Andy.

Hi ya,

Only me here. How did you do the gravity bleed?

One way I have read too is to get a pipe, block one end with a bolt etc. Cut a slit in the pipe above the bolt. Submerge in fluid. Then when you press the pedal, it force fluid through the slit but slit closes when pedal released. Was thinking of that but instead of letting pedal up, use a piece of wood to keep pedal down. Lock off the nipple, let the pedal up and then release the nipple and repeat

Just unscrew/slacken the bleed nipple & just wait till fluid is coming out, might take awhile but it works.or you could like you say pump brake peddle up till it goes hard then place something on peddle to keep it down slacken bleed nipple to let air out & repeat till it’s bled. Andy.

I use this homemade vacuum extractor made of plastic drain pipe and old fridge compressor. I use this to change engine oil, brake and steering fluids, colant...
check bleading nipels to for rust. I replaced my with Stainless steel.
Bleeding brakes by yourself pay attention not to suck air from empty fluid cylinder. this plastic bottle is great help.
hope this helps
