Headlight Dazzle

Anyone else get grief from other drivers about headlight dazzle? I’ve been flashed quite a few times now and notice that if the car in front is low (eg MX5), my headlights light up the interior. It’s also a problem when I brow a hill. As the car levels out I can literally see the opposing drivers blinded momentarily.

One guy actually got out of his car at lights to tell me angrily that I had main beam on. He quietly got back in when I flashed him and made him even more blind than he had been Laughing . To be fair his car was overloaded and on its ar*se, compounding the issue.

Obviously being high up, other sport headlights seem fine to me and I’ve never been flashed by an SUV/ van. Car has had its first mot and has no official issues with the headlights, wondering wether anyone else gets flashed? (so to speak!) Range Rover Sport HSE DYnamic SDV6 Velocity blue 2020 MY

Yes,

In my 16MY AB I was flashed a couple of times including a fed on the M5.

Mentioned it when it was at the Main Stealers for a software update and they tweaked them down a tadge.

No snags since.

Yes, both of my 494’s have suffered this problem... resulting in me manually adjusting the beam downwards... grab a Allen key wrench and you can turn them down...

I parked my car a small distance from my garage door with the lights illuminated and turned them down a few times you can see the levels lowering.... Very Happy

Hi Hoppy, yes mine were too high and I adjusted them down. as Farmer Chalk says you use an Allen key. However, you need to find the correct screw . There are 2 sets of the white plastic looking screws.... one on the outside of the frame and one on the inside. the outside screws do side-to-side adjustment. to get to the inside screws for the height adjustment, you have to take off the black plastic cover pieces, small triangular sections, with the three plastic expanding bolts. Then look down inside and you will see the white plastic screws, you may need an extension piece on your allen key/screwdriver to get to them. anti-clockwise makes the beam go lower, from memory. best if you can be a fair distance from the wall or whatever you are shining against for adjustment, you do not need a lot - maybe one full turn , and if you are close to the wall you may think that you are not seeing anything happen. Be careful when replacing the black plastic cover pieces, the little expanding bolts are easily lost into the engine bay. MY15.5 SDV6 HSE Dynamic without the H . Yulong White
