I really should sell the 2017, but it’s been great and hasn’t given me any faults, had it’s first service yesterday with 8k on it. The jury is still out on the new one, few niggles I m unhappy about , possibility i may reject it. 2019 Svr and 2019 R35 GTR

Quality control is an issue , but the question is why buy a 4WD if you aren't going off road? There are so many better options for on road use than the RRS, especially in this price range. The Merc is a very nice car but so different to the RRS. If I did not want off road ability there is no way I would choose a RRS.

Many are bought because they are easier to get in and out of than a low saloon, have much better visibility of the road and others, often have more space - particularly rear headroom, can be had with 7 seats (not the RRS although you can have the hobbit seats of course), give a sense of security - especially in bad weather. Many and varied are the reasons. For some it really is just a fashion thing.

Before I got my first RRS, I thought "what's the point of a 4x4?". Now, having driven nearly 150k miles in them, I think "what would I have instead? Er, nothing, really".

I do use mine a bit more than most - I tow and I do venture off road now and then - but I'm using it one-up simply as a car for 90+% of the time I would say. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I have mine for towing launching my jet ski and sometimes a boat. Easy access is also needed for SWMBO. If I got rid of jet ski, boat and SWMBO, I would go back to an M3 Laughing
