2012 intemittant vibration ( like a flat tyre )

Hey all.
Wonder if any one can shed light on this one. 2012 RRS SDV6 40k miles.
Ocasionally I am getting a vibration through the suspension. It sounds like driving with a flat tyre at speed or over ruts very close together. It will Last about 20 secs then stop. Happens every couple of days. The passnger can feel and hear it. Car still feels solid on the road no pulling no massive braking issues. Its the noise you notice more than anything.
Have had new tyres, wheels balanced, new brake pads and discs.
Also under breaking i get some movement on the steering wheel like the discs are slightly warped. Car has been like this since I bought it. Have changed the discs and no change.
Strange thing is sometimes this feels worse on one day then next day hardly noticable so wondering if the issues are related.

Wonder if anyone can assist in what to start looking at or change. The intermittent occurence is a pain when trying to fault find. Its a guessing game at the mo.

Thanks

Rod

Had a similar fault on my D4 and it turned out to be 2 combined faults.

1st one was one of the brake calipers was not releasing which was causing a vibration until it eventually released.

2nd one was the brake pedal switch needed adjusting as there was not enough travel on the pedal so the brakes were binding.

It took a while to locate as like yours it seemed to clear but on a long journey it came back and stayed for a longer period. MY18 RRS Autobiography Fuji White

Hey there.

Thanks for the reply. I will check them both out. I was wondering about the calipers but never seem to have excess heat at the wheel. However this could be throwing me as its so intemitent maybe they wouldnt.
I have not considered the brake pedal switch so will defo have a look.

Thanks again for taking the time to reply.

I used a infra red temperature gun when it starts to vibrate pull over and take the temperature of each wheel one was twice the temperature of the others thats what made them strip it all down and found one piston on the caliper was sticking and not releasing fully, Main dealers had it 4 times and couldnt find anything until i did this and filmed the vibration as you could see it on the steering wheel MY18 RRS Autobiography Fuji White

Thats a really good idea.
The noise started again today. There was nothing behind me so stepped on the brakes. Noise stopped so I think you could be bang on. Going to order a set if calipers. Can do no harm.

Thanks again.

Oh while I remember.
I was going to ask how many miles the D4 had covered when you were having issues.
Thanks
