My dealer has confirmed delivery for Monday afternoon - but we'll probably drop by the dealership on the weekend to see if we can have a look anyway.

Meanwhile, I'm getting ready for the delivery...let me see, have to check if the paint is okay, is the car resting lopsided on it's suspension? What condition are the Stormers in? Are they damaged? Does the rear window foul the door when it is opened and closed? That should pretty much cover the most common "visible" faults. Any other suggestions of things to look out for on delivery? Hidden faults such as "bed springs" suspension noise, can be addressed after delivery without diminishing my rights...so I'm focused on those visible faults that must be reported before I accept the car (or not).

I cant say I have ever needed to look so closely when taking delivery of all my previous BMW's and have never found visable faults after traking delivery.
