United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Autobiography Siberian Silver
Best Buy for 50k

Hi all, interested in your opinions.

I'm thinking of chopping in my 14 month old Evoque and getting back in an RRS. I will also be paying cash for the new car - want to get out of the PCP vicious cycle. I have a budget of £50k and need the car to be reliable.

I fancy a panoramic sliding roof and adaptive cruise. I also need a towbar of some description for bike rack, thinking electric deployable.

The best approved used answer seems to be an A/B but a 3-4 year of example tends to have about 60k on the clock. I will be doing about 10-15k miles a year. £50k seems a lot to pay for a vehicle with 60k on the clock. Would I be better settling for a lower trim level or is 60 thou with a 2 year warranty absolutely fine.

Going through a same sort of dilemma myself. I'm used to all the refinements of the AB but can only source approved used with high miles. If you was going to stay on the PCP trail would the high mileage matter come trade in / hand back if you went back to dealership. After all the mileage was known & agreed as part of the GMFV. If you decided to keep it or sell it privately then IMO the mileage will become more of an issue Big Cry .
Hope the above makes sense :thumbs up 16MY Estoril Blue SVR.............

You don't have to stick to the mileage offered as standard in a PCP, I always increase from the standard offer of 10k pa to 12k pa to allow me some safety margin. OK I will pay over the life of the contract for it if I don't use the full allowance, but I also wouldn't want to be hit with a monster excess miles charge at an even higher rate. All the dealers I have used have been happy to vary away from the standard PCP terms.

Don't forget that if you are looking at SDv6 AB's that are 3-4 years old they will have the lower powered engine not the 306hp version that came in 2015. They also suffer from rare crank failures...........

My local dealer has a 2014MY AB SDv8 on their forecourt that is just about in your budget but it does have 60k miles on it (so may be open to negotiation!)

You can refine the search criteria on the LR Approved used website to fit your desired spec so have a look on there 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

That the reason I always buy from LR main dealer Tim so I get the approved warranty,,as for power,,Ive not driven the 306bhp but this one of mine doesn't hang around when you put foot down,,next time I'm at dealers I might see if I can take one for a test drive just to compare.last time I was there they asked if I wanted to take a SVR out,,,as much as I wanted to I held back because I know I would have ended up going home in one instead of mine Very Happy

Thanks guys. I'm probably going to stick to main dealers for the 2 yr warranty. I may wait 6 months to see if Velar rush means a glut of RRS on the forecourt.

I want get out of PCP as I have 50k cash and it makes sense to buy outright rather than pay 6-10% interest on PCP/entire outstanding finance. I will be unlikely to gain this if I invest it, and you should always pay off your higher % loans so.... new car it is Wink

Back to original q... is 60nthou on clock an issue if you are intending on keeping? Evoque HSE Dynamic

Anything MY16 (65plate) onwards is IMO the sweet spot for you.

Much better 306hp engine, lots of interior upgrades and things made standard versus the MY15 and MY15.5.

You're going to struggle to get a MY16 ABD, but you should be able to find a good low mile HSED MY16 if you can stretch another couple of K.

Haggle at something like this: http://www.usedvehicles.landrover.co.uk/search#/details/2764430 or http://www.usedvehicles.landrover.co.uk/search#/details/2778321 SOLD - MY16 SDV6 Autobiography Dynamic - Fire Engine Red, Fixed contrast pan roof, TV, Dual Screen, 5+2, Privacy, Noble paddles.

Thanks, I think that is good advice. As I say, I'm in no hurry. In some ways I want to keep Evoque a bit longer to spread depreciation out a bit.

Maybe in 6 months a MY16 AB will be closer to 50, if not I will have to 'invest' a little more. Evoque HSE Dynamic

If you wait to March 2018 then we should know what changes have been made for the mid-life facelift and that will only devalue current cars even more...... Crying or Very sad 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Cheers for making my Day Tim,,,,as if I haven't lost enough on these sports in the last few years,,when or if I sell mine I don't think ill be getting another LR product as they just lose too much money.

I've seen 20k miles SDV8 Autobiography Dynamics on LR's site for £54k. Might be worth a look. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I've just picked up a '17 plate 4.4 A/B in Corris as a loaner while my Evoque is in for some diagnosis.

How much quicker is the 4.4 from the 3.0 because this feels very pokey? I think the dealer has done this on purpose as they know I'm looking! Shocked
