2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 Autobiography Firenze Red
Front brake pads issue

Last few weeks I had an issue with the brakes. When I press the brake, initially, braking is not enough, so press bit more and then its too much so having to ease the foot.
when I checked, rear pads were worn (down to 5mm), so replaced them, and that didn't resolve the issue.
Today I replaced the front pads. (Bramboo callipers). I found that they have hardly worn, new ones are only 9mm, and old ones were around 7mm, but I think the issue was that pads have stuck to the calliper, so they were not moving freely. it took some effort to take the old pads out, and it was all the brake dust build-up causing the issue. Cleaned and replaced the new ones and now brakes are back to how it was. I could have easily put the old pads back after cleaning so if anyone else encounter similar issue, its worth checking for this issue. Mileage 18,000.
Replaced with EBC redstuff.

I changed my pads for redstuff ones recently at 23k miles, and I did notice some accumulated OE pad dust in the pad guide areas, scraped it out before fitting the new shoes (which are fantastic btw and virtually NO dust!)

I can easily imagine that the OE pads could have become "sticky" in their guides before too many more miles. I have seen pads totally jammed up on other vehicles before now. MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.
