United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Santorini Black
Poor quality and constant issues means goodbye RRS

Well after 1 year of ownership and only 4200 miles covered with the vehicle almost 2 months in the dealers. I have had enough. It is gone, sold, never to return.

Quality issues list :
Engine fault warnings - due wiring chafing, loom incorrectly run and tight and finally sensors failing = days/weeks taken to fix it..
sloppy leather seats from new - 2 x steam treatments and still had sloppy leather.. Total rubbish for the cost of vehicle.
Faulty drivers seat base i.e creaking, loose and generally noisy. - 2 goes to fix and a replacement fitted in the end.
Warped/loose plastic finisher that goes all along base of windscreen. New finisher fitted.
Rear light lens cracked from the inside out. New lens fitted.
Intermittent failure of rear wiper - nothing ever found
Intermittent complete failure of DAB radio - software updates made it work but its poor quality drops reception frequently where others do not. Pity as the sound system was the upgraded Meridian.
Plastic burning smell in cabin, nothing ever found, but certainly it was a smell of melting plastic.
Fuel slap from tank when at or near half full.. Tank out and kit fitted to fix issue.
Front parking sensors that turned themselves off- fixed after a software update..
Front brake calipers changing colour from Black to grey.. nothing done about this, as "they all do that sir"
And the straw that broke the camels back... Engine turbo starting to whine..

The car was built just after the model change year and the holiday period...so it looks a bit like a " British Leyland " issue..
So I have had enough.. no more Jaguar/Land Rover products for me... ever..

So beware, if you have a good car with no issues, you are indeed a lucky person.. but JLR needs to sort its quality build issues and how they consider their customers concerns.

So I say good bye to you all, thanks for all the inputs over the years and good luck..

Re: Poor quality and constant issues means goodbye RRS

I'm sorry to hear that but ultimately mine will be going that way I fear. What was the engine fault issue? I've apparently got a 'wiring issue' causing random faults on the message centre.

Jeez, what sh*tty luck.

There are cars built by every marque that simply never work properly, look at any forum, I always feel for the poor bu**ers that end up receiving them. MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.

Dave

I am total with you!
I think that LR has to change the way they handle us customers.

In the past, once I had issues there where no discussions needed and I got a supreme Service.
Since they sell more cars, they just give you a number and you as a cusomer feel not respected anymore.

Best
René

Sounds like you just got a lemon. I'm on my second RRS2 and had no reply issues with either of them. The current MY16 just needed the door interior panel replaced as the leather was wrinkly. Only took them 3 months. Rolling Eyes Other than that they've been great.

Good luck with the replacement. Thumbs Up Arrived: MY16 A/B SDV6 in Aruba, Ivory interior, piano black trim, black panoramic roof, spare wheel, blind spot monitoring, mudlaps and more... Twisted Evil

Decided to split the difference on the car types rather than have one vehicle that should do everything..

So, for true off road work ( dont laugh) ) I will continue to run our old Suzuki Grand Vitara which comes equipped with complete 4x4 and diff locks. Its a very raw unsophisticated vehicle, but light and handles the real off road work in forest/fields/moors well.. It carries all the needed heavy gear, plus its equipped with serous mud tyres and lastly ..With the rear seats folded flat you can get a good sized deer in it when undertaking deer cull management.. ( tried this with the RRS and it was not great !, those rear seats just do not fold flat enough).. I would have gone back to a Disco 4 for all the above, but was very very put off having experienced the quality of the build on the new vehicles when having to run one for several weeks while the RRS was being " repaired".. The new Disco 4 had more squeaks and rattles in it than the old Suzuki!!.

The on road car is now a Merc AMG C63 Coupe Bow down
