United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV6 S Zermatt Silver

Hello all,

I am soon to migrate from the D3 site over here. After buying an 05 D3 and finding to my cost I should have done my research BEFORE not after I have, with the help of the excellent D3 forum, learned a decent amount about these vehicles... Thanks to everyone on D3.co.uk. The d3 now has belts changed (lesson 1!), EGRs blanked, turbo actuator freed off, new discs, pads and calipers all round, suspension that works/a brilliant ride after sorting front lower arms (Advanced Factors upgrades) rear upper arms (AF again)... Now that I've got it all sorted I have been offered...

A 2007 RRS TDV6 S with just 45k. It has carried a lovely old couple around for the last 7 years (about 4k miles a year) and is in great nick. They are a great couple and, aged 82, have the kind of outloook on life that made them decide a new RRS was the best way to spend their 80s. I'll be taking delivery when they collect their new one.

I've already planned the following:

Full Service and brake check
Full Belt change
Oil pump change
EGR blank and BAS patch

BAS remap when it's got used to its new life (although the current owners drove it in the style you would expect from an 82 year old who fancies a new one).

It drives really well but is it wise to have the proper ATF flush done as a precautionary bearing in mind age? Advice welcome plus any other pointers gratefully received.

Cheers

Chris

Hi everyone, it's all Clarkson and Top Gears fault, have liked the look of these since that clip on the tank range.
I was looking to buy a few years ago but was put off after reading about someones problem with a sport and its turbos/trashed engine.
I bought a facelift Freelander 1 instead, now looking to change for something a bit more modern with less miles on the clock, 146000 now. Hopefully this site will help me with the possible pitfalls and solutions, time will tell.

Paul

Hi onthefence at 45k your ok unless you want to get it done, the recommendation is 60 to 75k for a flush, had mine done a couple of months ago at 60k by Quattro near York £280. As the saying goes, the choice is yours. Welcome to the club by the way, came over from D3 about 3 years ago.. 2008 G4 RRSport TDV8 current

Hi,

I am not a RRS owner yet, but I currently own a 2000 P38 4.6 Vogue and have done for about six years. I have done most of the work on it - brakes, bags, electrics etc so have a reasonable grounding in these cars.

The reason I have joined here is because I have been offered a 2006 RRS 4.2 supercharged HST.

It's:

Black
Black interior
92k
Serviced

What I am trying to find out is what the main issues are with them.

I have been told the engines is pretty robust, the brakes can stick, and handbrakes can be a problem.

What else should I look out for?

Cheers Steve

Thank for getting back

Hi It would not accept any at first then I put one it and now it will not eject and it comes up on the screen with cd error and you hear the cd trying to eject but nothing, I read that you have to make sure it is just a cd not a combo so I did use a true cd. Very kind regards for your time thanks.
