Wales 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Rimini Red

Hi All,
Finally had the RRS returned from the garage after 2 months. Total bill was close £4000 in the end due to rear prop shaft splines being knackered and forward prop shaft needing overhaul. Drives lovely and gear change is nice and smooth.
Need to run up some mileage now to test fully. I cannot recommend the Garage i used for the repair/renewal of the gearbox as they have been a nightmare, customer service is crap. Communication totally non existent, and then they get ratty when you finally get them on the phone and ask for an update and why they cannot call you back when they say that they will. Having worked in the motor industry you know when they are spinning you a lie etc, even after telling them my background they still tried it on.

Cheers all
Mike

Hi mike. Would you recommend the ZF place in Barry? Was considering a gearbox mega flush for my RRS. It's turned 82k now. I'm also in s Wales.

Thanks

Hi Elg4n
Sorry mate but i would not recommend the ZF place in Barry, I have found them to be unreliable, very poor at communicating and to be honest the standard of workmanship is rubbish. Having worked in the motor trade you know when they are spinning a yarn etc. had to take the RRs back for the crossover duct replacement ( probably caused by them not refitting the brackets when they had the gearbox out) and as i was told by the Indie specialist that the box had to come off it had to go back to them due to the warranty. Anyway they decided to remove the body instead without informing me of any additional cost etc, plus it was due a g/box service for the warranty. Anyway i now have a growing list of things that need putting right after them, which i am doing myself because i dont want to go back there. i may end up in prison.
When they did the initial g/box flush i waited for the rrs ( took about 4.5 hrs) and all was ok until the faults showed up again. Hence the large bill for g/box refurbishment which took them over 2 months. Try south wales auto transmissions or if you fancy a day trip out try Bristol transmissions ( lots of good feedback on here for them).
Hope this helps.

Mike
