New ARB bushes

After enduring the bumps and crashes for the last month or so; I finally booked my car in and got the bushes renewed. Apparently there has been some sort of design upgrade in the clamps but what ever they have done it has really transformed the handling of the car. It now feels really planted on the road and the steering is really sharp.

The only downside of having the work done is that the garage discovered oil weeping from a driveshaft seal...

Hi Salisburylander

How much were you charged for the ARB and where did you have the work done?

I was quoted £150 For new front bushes fitted to ARB with Ace system, By a indie in Hainalt Essex The body needs lifting to remove the brackets. I believe the non Ace system is easier, no body lift itisme

Not sure where the rumour started but you don't need to lift the body to change the front ARB bushes, you do need to lift the diff slightly..

Front ARB bushes

With the assistance of a cut down socket welded to the ring end of a ring spanner (to get at the passenger side clamp bolts) all was done on the drive way with not too much of a problem other than a bit of spanner rash on the knuckles. No lifting diff, splitting drive shafts etc. Oh, and I have ACE fitted. Thumbs Up 2.7 HSE, Audi A6 Exec, Honda Accord Exec, Volvo 440, Volvo 360

The work was done by an independent garage in Salisbury. The parts were £70 but I'm not sure about how much the cost was for just doing the ARB's as I had it serviced too.
