No, it means that, for a given tyre/wheel size, the bigger the number, the further the wheel would stick out.

Inset is the opposite. It's where the mounting flange is further out than the centreline of the wheel (like on a lorry's front wheels).

Hope this helps. RRS 4.2 S/C. Zermatt. Tints. Stormers. 150+ paint defects, wonkey bonnet, scratches, detached doorseal. suspension faults. To sum it up, a �60k pile of cr4p!
