Greece 2009 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HST Fuji White
Replace the Ace servo pipes+front anti roll bar bushes

Front suspension ACE unti roll bushes,is one of the most common issues which causes one the many Knocking sounds on our cars.Mentioned countless times in many posts

My car is a 2009 3.6td with ACE.

First I have tried my luck to find the root of the knocking issue at an inde LR specialist shop.Despite his efforts,he did not manage to spot it.He have replaced instead the front lower wishbone control arm bushes, and maybe another pair of bushes I can not recal now

After that I went to the dealer.A new company just opened in Northen Greece.

I also had another couple of issues at the time.Too much black smoke coming from the exhaust, and smalll oil leak marks on my parking space.

They spot the problems in all my issues straight away.No come and go,try this and try that!I was impressed knowing that many dealers all over the world struggle to find knocking noises in these cars.

The smoke was because of a hole on the rhs lower small size hose that goes to the turbo
This hose is not visible, and a lot of parts have to go to be able to reach it

They made this hard job look easy and spot the problem by using a small camera on a wire. Like the ones doctors use down our throads. That was done in my presence
They asked me if someone was welding near that side. The hole resemble a weld burn hole.Indeed the inde shop forementioned, on a previous job,(see my other posts) they tried to remove some cut studs in my manifold and they used a welding technique. With very limited access.Their intentions were good however. If you know official Land Rover advises to remove the shasis from the rest of the car to remove cut studs. They charge 2000 pounds or more for that!

Back to the suspension, the dealer also told me that I had a leak from my front ACE servo pipes.(Front active roll bar pipe work assembly)
That leak was going straight on one of the anti roll bar bush deterioreting its condition, let alone loosing fluid.

That explained the small stain marks on my drive way.

I was told that the pipes come as one piece,LR OE number RQA500120.They can not replace only the leaking piece, nor weld the damage piece, reasky as there is high pressure involved. So quoted 400 pounds for the pipes!

For the front Ace anti roll bar bushes, the OE is RVU50011 and there are not expensive

To replace the pipes is a lengthy process, but the charge I think was very reasonable,300 euros for maybe 5 hours.Compared to some charges I see in the forum from UK dealers I think we are ok.

To buy the pipes,I was lucky, VERY lucky to find a set in The German ebay for 20 pounds! That was 1/20 of the price quoted at the dealer

Anyway the car was handed to my perfect no sounds or leaks,no smoke.
Maybe its worth to pay the extra money, when reasonable,to have an ease of mind.
