Australia 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 SE Santorini Black

Don't think so - the current draw of a portable HDD would exceed that at the usb hub. If you have an independent power supply for the HDD it might be viable?

Poland 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Buckingham Blue

I have a 128 GB SSD running off an USB socket that doesn't even fulfill 500 mA minimum current standard (Raspberry Pi, about 300 mA) so I believe a RRS will do Wink Regards etc.,

Well I found some CD's in DTS that I had when I owned a Yamaha 5.1 surround music player. They played well and really made the system that extra bit special. However I thought it would be good to store these surround CD's but no such luck option to upload is not available. I aim to transfer the CD's to memory stick as an image file and see if this is reconised , if anyone knows the answer please advise. M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW.

A little more research and it seems that Apple Lossless will rip the DTS CD ! I will try this when I have some time and then see if the unit will play in this format. There is quite a lot of 5.1 music available and having a unit that can play it will mean you can have the sensation of being at a live venue. I will keep you posted. M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW.

Just out of interest can you give me a couple of examples of 5.1 music?
By the way I listen to my music via my iPhone 6 128gb (everything CD quality) either through Bluetooth or if I want that little bit extra quality I use the Aux input. Being an experienced recording engineer (40 years!) I find the audio quality more than acceptable. My 850 watt system even makes some of the records I have made sound better than I remember! Can't be bad.
I found the USB interface on this system not very user friendly and the audio quality no better than the previously mentioned connections. SDV8 arrived and fantastic even the infotainment!

Nice 2013 Freelander TD4 manual (for daughter to learn on) with much better stereo compared with previous SD4 SE with Meridian which sounded bad!

DTS format means 5 separate channels as opposed to stereo , my be 6 channels counting sub woofer I am not sure. There is no denying the sound is great but DTS is fantastic but can only be played via the CD player so far. M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW.

Pink Floyd in surround sound is to die for. What a great audio system this car has. I only wish there was the ability to store the DTS CD's or play surround sound via USB ? I am thinking may be I can make some DTS compilations on a DVD disc at least this would allow 5 CD's on one disc. I am unsure how to go about this at present but intend to research some more. M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW.

Yes love Pink Floyd. Will try and get a 5.1 version of Dark Side of the Moon. DTS 5.1 format consists of left, centre, right front , left and right rear and a subwoofer. And yes the 850 watt system is excellent and certainly the best system I have ever had in a car. The base system is awful in my opinion. Just for your interest I have found that reducing the treble a fair bit improves the sound even more. The system is a little harsh for me and all the music I listen too sounds better rather than having it at it's nominal level. Of course it's all down to personal taste.
Hope your enjoying the your car.

Julian.

With DTS you don not have the Options other than tone and balance, goes to DTS . I'll try your suggestions. M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW.
