United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Orkney Grey
Should I join a Land Rover Service Club?

Hi,

SDV6 HSE 2012 bought from a main dealer in September 2015 with around 21K on the clock. Serviced in July 2015. 2 year warranty with the car. I expect to do around 12K - 15K per year.

I have been offered a service plan by the dealer I purchased from. They say: £63.79 a month, discount on your current service which was £707.50 so your service will only be £600.00 -a total saving of £107.50. I'm assuming that this price was for the service before I bought the car and I am not sure how much the next one in July this year will be.
I plan to keep the car for at least another 3 years and would probably use a main dealer for servicing during the warranty period.

All comments/advice welcomed.

TIA

Steve

I didn't think any of the L494 came without a 5yr 50k miles or 60k miles.
I realize it had a price tag attached to it, but normally thrown in - and if not £600-700 for 5 years.... Seemed the best deal. - If that deals not there - then shop around, or pursuade a dealer to sell you the 5 year pack - even with 2 years gone - you'd be quids in - and it is "new to you - and LR approved" - nothing to lose.... -

Use an indie for servicing, not the main dealer. The warranty is still valid; they can not use indie servicing against you in a claim so long as genuine parts are used at service.

The dealer servicing packs aren't that great value when you think they're charging you £600 a year to change the oil and filters. An indie can do it much cheaper than that still using the correct bits.

Is the warranty the Approved / Extended one run by Car Care Plan on behalf of LR? If so, you can claim against it through an indie too. You don't need to use a main dealer at all. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Checked and the warranty is the Land Rover Approved Warranty Administration - trading name of Car Care Plan Ltd.
