Still can't get these f**king exhaust tips fitted!!!&#12

Trying to fit these genuine exhaust tips to our 2011 HSE, pic below is how they match up to our existing exhaust, almost identical so can't get them to slot inside each other

So got some 60mm clamps as advised to go over both pieces, as below

These don't fit!! Too small!! Looks like they need to be 64mm!!!

Anyone know if I can get these in 64mm?? If so, can you tell me what the part number is please?

John

John,

Not genuine LR but available on a well known auction site.

Search under "64mm exhaust sleeve" and take your pick.

Looks as if you have a sleeve to fit over both exhaust and tips. Will they expand out a little as they do need to be fairly tight it looks as if you might have had the clamps over the tips if so try filing the outer edge of the exhaust pipe and perhaps cut a slot in it.

I would think the clamp you have would expand 4 mm but if not pop down to you local exhaust place with the new tail pipe in hand and they will have them in stock I would think, even quick fit.
That way you will know you have the right part for the job and no need to wait for an order to arrive, Wink Lot of Landcruisers now sold

Not sure where abouts you are in Essex but you could try Haywood and Scott Exhausts in Basildon. They have been going for about 30 years and are specialists at making stuff from scratch. I'm sure they could knock you up some sleeves and clamps for you or even fit them.

Agree as everyone else has advised. Simple easy solution to that, and no more agro.

Alot of places that sell or do specific exhaust repairs will have some of these sleeves. Failing that get them welded on?

Thanks for your help guys,

I can get these to expand enough to get them over both ends of the exhaust and tips, but can't quite close them enough to get the bolts back on, and with centre section and end piece of the clamps all needing to go on, it makes it very awkward! Gonna have another go at it this morning. 😉

Finally sorted!!!! 😀

Had a couple of slightly longer bolts from some previous clamps I tried, just long enough to get them to bite and pull the clamps in enough to use the shorter bolts

hi john you can get sleeves of ebay. about 15 what I did is 62mm and 58mm that way one side goes over the exhaust and the other side goes in to the exhaust tips. and then clamp them on but you will need to measure yours exactly. Thumbs Up
