2014 Specification

I'm looking to trade up to a RRS2. Probably registered late 2013 (63 plate)
Can someone please help me to understand whether it is likely to have a Tracker to satisfy potential Insurer?
Secondly as I only have the reg No. at present, is there any way I can get the specification from Topix?

The in control secure I've with tracker built in was not standard until MY15 and then not on all models, only higher spec AB models.

You have no way of telling if an after fit tracker has been installed.

Whilst you can't use topix for your vehicle without. Vin, you can select the year, and get generic information - less useful I know.

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

If the car is from an LR dealer then they should be able to tell you if it has a 3rd party tracker fitted as they should have all the documentation from the previous owner as it is often a lot cheaper to take out the lifetime sub for it than to have to pay annually or 3 yearly. I handed back a sheaf of paper with the FFRR and my 1st Evoque for the next owner as both had had the full liftetime subs paid. I know that the dealers in London who got the cars in as part exchanges passed on the documentation to the next owner as I was contacted in both cases through the dealer by the new owners for info about the installers.
I would imagine that any "tracker" installer would be able to ttell you by looking at the car if tere was a system fitted because they know where to look, but with Incontrol there is no "external" hardware at all. The system cleverly utilises hardware/ ECU's satnav and phone systems that are already built into the vehicle. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Even if the car you settle on does not have a tracker, it is no biggie to get one fitted, usually around the £250 mark, including monitoring centre subscription. MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.

Scotland 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Orkney Grey

I recently got a tracker fitted to my L405 for insurance purposes. I went for the Smartrack Protector Pro with 1 year subscription for a total of £334 which included fitting.

They do also offer a lifetime car subscription which is £399 but only stays with the car, and I'm not sure I'll keep my L405 after 2 years hence why I opted for yearly. 2014 L405 SDV8 RR Autobiography Cool

Many thanks for the help chaps.

I have confirmed that it does not have a Tracker "not all insurers need them".

and I now know what I am likely to spend because my usual insurer does and never having had a car at this price level before I feel I should.

Nor did it have the 5 year transferable service deal Big Cry

When did they fit the OEM tracker? Part of In Control from my reading of the Forum.
It's not mentioned in the 2014 spec sheets so I assume 2015 from Sept 2014 onward?
