Not hugely unusual; it has been know for the Fire Brigade to have been called out to a smokey FBH before! Laughing Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

Sometimes if they haven't been used for a long time the FBH will also spit a lump of unburned oily soot out onto your drive too. I have had this happen twice, once with an L320 RRS and once with an L322 FFRR, both were TDv8's but I don't think that it is restricted to that engine. Once it had "marked it's territory" there was a cloud of smoke from the front wheel arch for a couple of minutes and then all was fine. This has caused alarm to owners of Freelanders, Disco's,RRS's and FFRR's since about 2001 when the FBH was fitted for reducing cold weather warm up time and to aid emissions reduction on cold mornings 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
