United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Autobiography Stornoway Grey
5.7 Supercharged

I cannot fully substantiate this story but I went out for lunch today with my new boss, he was asking me about the SC, he said a friend f his had bought one receently and spent a 'bit of money' doing it up, the main change being a 5.7 litre V8 Supercharged.

I questioned it saying it seems unlikely, however he has apparently spent 85K on the car so far.

Has anyone heard anything about any people such as Arden, Overfinch, JE Eng' making such a car? L319 D4 HSE

The Overfinch Supersport conversion only gets bored out to 5.0l - so not sure who would be providing a 5.7l conversion. I doubt you'd be able to bore another 700cc out of the existing Jaguar unit on top of what Overfinch already do....

5.7l sounds very American to me....

Hmm... not sure.

I like the way this guy refers to 85k as a "bit of money" Wink

I do wonder what the point of buying a 60k car and then spending another 85k converting it is. Given the costs involved I think it's likely this is a one-off conversion just to show it can be done. I'd also question whether it's going to be worth 145k if he sells it on... you'd have to get a few wealthy collectors into a bidding war based on how unique it is to make any money out of it.

Why on earth would you spend 85k on top of a 60k car if you want a big fast car get a phantom Wink RRS TDV6 Gone but still around

nah nor me.. that phantom was ace..
(plus did get the aston martin brochure through for the AMV8.. see if i get a chaser call to book a test drive next or not..)

5.7L seems very OTT.. this guy must have a lot of money to throw around, im with the rest of you on this, i would rather buy a standard supercharged, and just get it chipped or something, and put the rest down towards something else..

My dad had a phantom, well two of them, but he sold the second as soon as he got it. It was an amazing car. The fit and finish in it was extravegant. Not one detal was left undone. There were some relability problems wit the first one which propted him to sell the second one quickly after he received it. The i-drive and computer systems made the car troublesome and on its way to the dealer on a flatbed quite often. The car is so big at 19ft long. It's like driving a boat, but it handles well and is pretty quick.
