It's relatively simple. A few screws below the bumper, a couple in the wheel arch from memory. Lever the ends out to pop it off. Easier with help but ok alone. The wiring can be fixed either with a suitable butt connector or by soldering. Ensure whatever you do is protected from water ingress. I did a temporary repair on mine earlier this year and it's been fine until some recent wet weather running caused the odd error. I bought a replacement loom for about £50 and will, at some point, fit that to make a permanent repair.

I know a chap who works for the company that made/makes the looms. The replacement is not as well taped as the original and feels a bit "cheap" compared to the original. Original loom was made by the company in UK factory. The replacement is made by the company in an Egyptian factory and is labelled as such on the packaging. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Im presuming that you can't tell if it is an eroded cable or the sensor itself until you get the rear bumper off?

I have an intermittent failure on mine. Weather conditions etc make no difference, dry, wet, hot, cold etc. They can work/stop working on the same journey, even on the same reversing operation. 2006 HSE for Sale - £7,499 (Manchester)

First pass would be to read the fault codes or look at the live values to determine which one is faulty. Bodsys Brake Bible

When I've previously had my fault codes checked there wasn't anything relating to it? im presuming that you would only get a fault code when they are failing?

How do you view the live values?

Again, trying to establish which one is failing by "listening" is another hard one as the fault is so intermittent. I can go for weeks without a fault, and then it can re-occur a few times in 1 day?

Just been scouring eBay and have by chance come across a full bumper (in my colour) with 3 parking sensors already in it. I need to replace my bumper as there is a "ding" in it so may be worth an option? 2006 HSE for Sale - £7,499 (Manchester)
