Front parking sensor aid inactive on dashboard

Hi everyone

I have recently bought a RRS SC 2005 68,000 miles everything was good until yesterday, I had the car washed and now today I have a message on dash at start up, front parking aid inactive? Also the rear sensors have stopped working also? I have seen a similar post with the exact same fault and sequence of events to how this happened but it was unclear how it was resolved?

Can anyone help? And can anyone point me in the most like direction?
One other thing?
One post indicated the front sensor loom controls the rear audio sounder for the rear sensors,? If the sounder speaker was u/s would this cause the problem?
one other thing prior to the parking sensors failing when the car was in reverse the rear sounder would be on continuos? which leads me to believe I may have had an intermittent fault with a rear sensor, if so would the message on the dash read front parking sensor inactive?

Any help appreciated

Welcome to the Forum - do you still get the bleep? one long continuous bleep ? with the error message ? .Common fault - the sensors don't last forever - if you get the bleep - it's a sensor. Ideally you need a diagnostic tool to read the recent error codes this can identify the offending sensor location. Mine used to dry out therefore work & then stop when it rained Sad causing intermittent problems.
Hope this helps Thumbs Up 16MY Estoril Blue SVR.............

Hi All,

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but I have an issue with the rear pcd. Changed the buzzer and it was working for a few months. All sensors click. Upon starting the car the rear pcd works and after a while it then produces a continuous beep.

The light in the dash is fine as well.

What could be the issue now?

A damaged/corroded loom would not be unlikely. Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK
