2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Zambezi Silver
Should I return?

Guys, left the RRS world behind a few years ago after too many issues with my 05 2.7tdv6. (Engine replaced at 80k miles, lots of niggles).

Although, all this said, it was the best driving experience and emotional attachment I'd enjoyed from any car, but the lack of predictable reliabillity became too much.

I'm now considering coming back and buying a 3.0d 2014, how is the reliabillity now? Has it stepped up and raised the bar? Or are we still seeing poor failures?

Hoping to hear great things, but give me the truth, I can take it. Rather hear now before I hit the go button!!

Cheers

The RRS still has issues but the later ones do seem to be better if the number of people arriving here for advice is anything to go by. Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Very popular amongst thieves, so Land Rover must be doing something right. And I'm proud to Buy British [Indian] just like we were told to in the '70s or whenever it was.

Question is more: what's the alternative? Competion seems uninspiring to me:

* X5 - 5 series on fat stilts. Just buy a sweet 5 series.
* Cayenne - for V dub enthusiasts, get a Passat estate, it won't age as quickly.
* Merc M - retirement homes. Just get a free bus pass and one of those tartan push-me-pull-me baskets.
* Lexus blobs - like buying a stuffed dog because you're feeling lonely.
* Jeep - no
* Hyundai Santa Fe - yes. That's it. Buy a Santa Fe with a 7 year warranty. Driving pleasure, style, AND peace of mind.

(Clarkson told me to write this. I removed his racist bits). L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso
RRS TDV6 HSE Lux (MY2011)... Nara Bronze / Arabica - now gone!

So Clarkson has started a career in consultancy. Wondered what he would now do Mr. Green all manufacturers produce lemons. The question is are you feeling lucky?
