tyre blow out.

Just had my second Censored continental tyre blow out. The car has done 15k miles and the contis are still legal but like the other one that went it has a split about five inches on the inside wall. These tyres are dangerous imo, so check them carefully and replace early. New Pirellis fitted now. SVR 2018 in Santorini Black.

These cars should come standard with Pirelli scorpions, unless someone has changed them before you.

Which Continental tyre was fitted? Was it one designed for SUV use and was it correctly rated? I ask because I've seen people running on tyres that are below the load rating required for the RRS.

Glad the result was nothing worse than some pain in the wallet. Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

My Sport failed it's first MOT due to all four Conti tyres being split and cut. All within the treads. I changed to Pirrelli tyres after this Thumbs Up 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈
Cruising daily #56 mph in a Volvo V8. 😱

Best tyres I ever had on the car are Michelin Latitude Sport 3.. Conti's and Pirelli Pzero are rubbish to the Michelins...

Ive been pondering on the tyre subject ready for my next set. I'm on Pirelli Zero. Quiet on the road but they seem to split easily. A couple of mine are split round the edges but still all have about 5mm on.

Never looked at thise Michelins though. I'm not Fat. RRS TDV6 HST.

Try those Michelins next time.. Once you have tried them one the RRS, you don't want others anymore.. Much more quiet than the Pzero's and no vibrations (my last Pzero were like eggs Shocked )

Have seen a few good reviews on the Michelin and was actually thinking of giving them a try and at only £200.00 a tyre not a bad price. They are purely a summer tyre only though I believe.

Cheers

Goodyear silent armors, are the best tyre I've had on a 4wd.

Grippy on and off road and surprisingly quiet, too.

Bought mine from tirerack.com. Can't rate them highly enough. Less is more, more or less

General Grabber ATs on mine. They don't have the outright grip levels on warm sunny roads, but work well in everything, including off-road and seem to last for ages. I've done 15k on this set and tread wise they still look new!

Had the same issue on my Goodyear Excellences
Luckily didn't result in a blow out, just came back to find one flat tyre, and further inspection showed that another was just as bad but still holding air. Shocked
