I have just purchase the above vehicle and can't make a bluetooth phonecall. The factory satnav screen is not fitted (there is a Garmin in its place) but the stereo is the factory one. I am able to pair my phone (sony xperia sp) using the 2121 code but then using my phone to make a call (can't use the satnav screen since I don't have the factory one) results in the call connecting (as seen on my phone - "connected via bluetooth") but I cannot hear the person at the other end of the line and they can't hear me. If I use my phone to switch to loudspeaker I hear the caller and they hear me but when I flick back to Bluetooth all is quiet. Interestingly there is also an aftermarket Sony Bluetooth kit stuck to the dashboard which doesn't seem to do anything............

Can anyone help?

Hi mate- did you buy it privately? If so it may be worth asking the previous owner what his set up was. The sat nav screen has got nothing to do with it- it works through the radio display. Sounds like your accessing the range rover Bluetooth module though if you're using 2121. If you have music on when you make a call does it mute?

I pretty much bought the car before seeing it for real after seeing lots of photos, asking lots of questions and getting the car booked in to a Land Rover specialist to get a health check. I asked about the bluetooth in an e-mail and asked him to check it out for me. He wrote back and said it seemed fine as he had managed to pair it up with his phone (but didn't actually say he had made a phone call.....).

After pairing with it using 2121 the screen says "phone attached." When I make a call using my phone (not the radio display) the radio mutes and it says "dialling" for about 10secs. Thereafter the phonecall connects and I get a greyed out rectangle with a phone symbol in the middle and the words No Service displayed to the right hand side. The phonecall is live since if I switch to loudspeaker on my phone I can hear and be heard fine. If I switch back to bluetooth using my phone all is quiet again. In the bluetoooth menu on the radio display the options phonebook, call register and phone off don't do anything if you select them by hitting the Menu/Ok button.

Hello J. I can't recall seeing this option once the call is live (I think only bluetooth, loudspeaker and phone) but I will try it out. Thank you

J. Tried your suggestion but there is no option on my phone to select "Land Rover" once you have dialled the call. Having just paired the phone to "Land Rover" and dialled a number the phone automatically selects the "bluetooth" option. The options I have are speaker phone, bluetooth or phone.

It's all a bit strange really. I'd be looking to get the sony kit removed.
What phone are you using?
Something seems confused between the 2121 LR code, so trying to connect to the LR BT unit, but something else not getting the sound /mic through. Could be the sony kit is connected to the back of the stereo wiring. Haven't really got a simple answer for you I'm afraid.. Bodsys Brake Bible

Yes, may have to get the Sony kit removed although I do wonder why anyone would install an aftermarket kit if the Land Rover kit was working okay.

My BT connection has been impeccable until I had to reset my phone (Motorola MotoG) to factory defaults. I just tried to pair the phone to the RRS - phone shows Land Rover and that's it - phone just does not pop up on the screen. Used the 2121 code and all. Any ideas what's (not) happening here?
