I just bought on myself, and I am in the process of having it installed. I was told that it is a straight replacement. Beautiful Today was the Tommorow you worried about Yesterday

hi guys, i was gotta do a write up about the process. it's complicated and should be done in a particular order for best results. i completed mine after about a day working on it.

before you send it off to the sprayers, I would recommend that you glue the plastic mesh to the inside of the vent holes. If it's already been sprayed then I would recommend that you glue the plastic mesh before fitting the bumper onto the car.

To fit the parking sensors, make sure they are facing exactly the same direction as they were on the old bumper. You'll notice on the pdc's that there is a small plastic piece that sticks out from the side wall. Simply cut a little channel into the pdc holes on the bumper, to make sure that pdc's dont rotate out of position over time.

the bumper is a VERY tight fit. The only holes that I drilled out prior to fitting the bumper were the holes for the headlight washers (be careful NOT to make these too big) and the elongated clip holes closest to the front wings. When I had the bumper prepared, parking sensors fitted, washer system fitted, fog lights fitted, time then came for fitting the bumper to the car and this was horrible. I ended up scratching a little of the front wing on one side. I got one side in first, its a very tight fit. The problem you'll find is that when you come to clip in the other side on the opposite wing (that I scratched), it appears as though it's an impossible fit. Don't despair though. It will fit but you will have to bend and stretch the bumper till your arms hurt.

the guys at meduza are helpful but the bumper should have come with clear instructions and most of the holes pre-cut.

One last thing, the bumper collects water ! So drill a few drainage holes along the bottom. Where? Chuck in a little water and see where the water collects. Recently bought a 2007 RRS HSE TDV6 for a Pimp-My-Ride-Project.
DONE: Meduza front bumper, AB rear bumper, AB tailpipes, calipers repainted, rear upper tailgate upgrade, side steps, AB front grille, AB side vents, rear LED lights, clear side repeaters, integrated daytime running lights, LED headlights.
TO DO: color code sills and pillars.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I did manage to get mine to fit finally. But the pdcs and fog light look to big to fit? Do I need the 2010 ones?

Both fit. The pdc's are very tight, i used little wd40 to slide them in and even a rubber mallet. The fog lights are fine also but not so self explanatory to install. Recently bought a 2007 RRS HSE TDV6 for a Pimp-My-Ride-Project.

Apologies for not doing this Sad

The install process was a pain in the rear end! I have this to compare against an original AB rear bumper that I fitted several weeks before the Meduza, and that was a breeze as all the holes were pre-drilled.

Of course the bumper needs spraying first. Make sure they do a very good prep of the bumper, i.e. sanding, otherwise the bumps and imperfections will show VERY clearly. My bodyshop guy said fibreglass is a pain to prepare and that the bumper needed a lot of prep.

ask Meduza to pre-drill all of the holes.

The swap over for the fog lights isn't a doddle. Very fiddly. So ask them to send instructions. And come to think of it, ask them for a better solution for the fog lights as changing the bulb is a stupid, stupid, stupid process, i.e. you have to, from what I can see anyway, take the bumper off!!!

The swap over for the headlight wash is simple, as long as the holes have been pre drilled. Otherwise make sure the holes are the same size as, AND NO BIGGER, than the holes on the old bumper.

When it comes to the honeycomb mesh for the air vents, these are terrible to glue into place, simply because of the tiny surface area you have for the glue. In the end I used a glass fibre kit to keep them in place and this provides a rock solid hold! Fit the mesh in place before you fit the bumper. In fact do all of the above before you fit the bumper.

Then it comes to fitting the bumper, make sure you get one side in place, properly, and whilst you're doing so, check that the other end isn't scratching your front wing to shreds! Then when the one side is in place, getting the other side in place is a big, big struggle. You're gonna have to bend and stretch the bumper into place. It took me a lot of swearing and elbow grease, and I consider myself to be quite a practical guy!

Would I do it again? Yes. But that's only because I've done it once and learnt a lot from it. But I would come up with a modification for the fog lights before doing so, and get all the holes pre-drilled, and get them to spray it. Otherwise I would buy the AB front bumper, wings and updated led headlights. Recently bought a 2007 RRS HSE TDV6 for a Pimp-My-Ride-Project.

Thanks for the write up Luke. Bow down

It sounds like a real pain in the rear-end (no pun intended). I was toying with the idea of getting front and rear bumpers after Christmas, but I don't think I have the patience or temperment to find solutions to the problems that might crop up should i drill the wrong size hole or have trouble with the fog lights. You would think it would be easy for Medusa to pre-drill any holes as standard...AND glue the mesh prior to delivering. Rolling Eyes 2010 RRS TDV6 3.0 Autobiography - Stornoway Grey

I agree with you there re: Meduza should strive to make things simple for us! The fact that they haven't has gone against them. And judging by what others have said about the rear bumper I wouldn't even go near it Rolling Eyes Recently bought a 2007 RRS HSE TDV6 for a Pimp-My-Ride-Project.
